I’ve been building masks since I was 12, and before that drawing them. As a performer I’m well aware of the needs of others who wearmasks. I’ve built for ballet companies, theater, companies, parades, and just for hanging on walls. I see the mask as a door through which the wearer can explore a new identity.
Over the years I’ve developed a few different styles of masks. Each style especially suited to the demands of the performance. The materials I work with are neoprene, latex, paper, leather and fabric machés.
A short list of some of the notable organizations I’ve worked for include Center Theater Group, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Santa Clarita Ballet, Zoo District Theater Company, Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum.
